Platte Canyon cross country team members senior Emma Dikken and freshman Ily Hardey competed in the 2A state high school cross country meet in Colorado Springs Oct. 17.

Dikken finished her final race of her career at Platte Canyon as she finished 47th with a time of 23:36. Dikken qualified for state all four years. Hardey finished 68th with a time of 24:36.

“Emma Dikken finished 47th and Ily Hardey finished 68th at the state 2A championship .Saturday,” Coach Mike Demko said.

“For Emma it was her fourth consecutive season qualifying for the state cross country meet. Ily was one of only a handful of freshman in the race. The accomplishments of the two were quite impressive. The two worked together in practice and in races all season, but were unable to work together at the state meet due to the wave start. We are looking forward to more great performances from those two in the upcoming track season.”
