Well, it’s been a few weeks since I’ve sent anything. There is so much in the news, but it’s important you look at all the sources and determine for yourself where the “spin” is.
A few things you should know about. The Colorado Secretary of State is aware of mailbox vandalism in several communities in Colorado. The necessary investigators are involved, and of course with the timing the number one reason being looked at is mail-in ballots. If you haven’t received your ballot yet, you need to call your county clerk immediately. If you have received it and turned it in, go on-line to sos.state.so.us to ensure it has been received. If you received it but haven’t turned it in, you might go to the same web site just to be sure no one voted a ballot in your name.
The possibility of fraud is just so high in this election that we can’t take chances.
In the debate last night, President Trump hammered home a point I have been making in social media and in my editorials. No one, not even Joe Biden himself, can tell me one major thing he has accomplished in 47 years of elected office other than continuing to get reelected while doing nothing. If his plans are so great, why wasn’t he able to make progress while he was #2 in the country?
There is a Trump rally (no he won’t be there) scheduled for Sunday from noon-2 p.m. beside U.S. Highway 285 next to the Loaf ’N Jug in Bailey. The same group held an impromptu rally last week and had a good response. They are scheduled to be there this Sunday. We’ll see if the weather comes into play or not.
Every vote counts. Make sure your conservative neighbors know that. You can google “win by one vote” and see quite a few local and national races that were decided by just one vote.
Here is an interesting bit of history about President Lincoln. He won his first term in the electoral college with 180 out of 303 votes. The remaining 123 were split across three other candidates.
He only had 40% of the popular vote. He won his re-election with 55% of the popular vote, This was despite the news media fighting him throughout his four years.
Here are a few of the terms that Lincoln had been labeled with by the media during his first term: Filthy Story-Teller, Despot, Liar, Thief, Braggart, Buffoon, Usurper, Fiend, Butcher. Sound familiar?
The general populace was able to see through the facade and voted in a reasonable manner.
Let’s pray we see that again.
