South Park residents are already beautiful, and the South Park Beauty company professionals can help residents stay beautiful through their menu of services.
South Park Beauty Company owner Dakota Gabbert-Lamb opened for business at 501 U.S. Highway 285, Unit 1-A, Dec. 20, 2022, and has been beautifying customers ever since. The shop is across the street from Otto’s restaurant.
Gabbert-Lamb is not new to Fairplay’s beauty business, as she formerly worked styling hair at the Mountain Mama Boutique.
The SPBC provides haircuts for men, women and children, as well as hair color, highlights, halo extensions, waxing and manicures.
“Eyelash lifts and tints are coming very soon,” Gabbert-Lamb said. “Eyelash lifts are semi-permanent treatments to curl lashes.”
DeAnn Brogan, stylist, also works Tuesdays at the SPBC. Brogan is another well-known and sought-after hair professional. She also worked at the Mountain Mama Boutique. Before that Brogan owned and operated the Last Tangle Salon in Fairplay.
“I grew up in South Park, and I feel so lucky to be able to come back and start a small business in the community that I love,” Gabbert-Lamb said. “I love working in the beauty industry, and Fairplay definitely had a need.”
Gabbert-Lamb graduated from the Toni and Guy cosmetology school in Colorado Springs in 2009. After graduation she worked at the Toni and Guy salon at Park Meadows Mall for a few years, specializing in all color services.
Next, she worked at a privately owned salon in the Highlands Ranch neighborhood of Denver, where she gained additional experience, including waxing and women’s haircuts.
“From there I decided to move out of the country and took on a new career as a scuba dive instructor,” Gabbert-Lamb said.
“Even though I wasn’t in a salon every day, I was still doing hair for all my friends and family.”
Gabbert-Lamb moved back to Fairplay in 2020 and in March of 2022 began cutting and styling hair at the Mountain Mama Boutique.
Gabbert-Lamb plans future expansion of her business and eventually would like the SPBC to be a full-service salon and medi-spa. A medi-spa focuses on non-surgical aesthetics, such as botox, fillers, laser hair removal, microdermabrasion and skin resurfacing.
The SPBC’s hours are Wednesday through Saturday, 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m.- 3 p.m.
