After knocking off Nederland in the opening round of the Class 2A Colorado State Playoffs, the Platte Canyon Lady Huskies basketball team ran into a buzz saw in Burlington, 88-17.

The Lady Huskies never got on track offensively and were badly overmatched by the firepower of the Lady Cougars. The contest was over for all intents and purposes by halftime, as the Cougars roared out to a 47-12 lead after two quarters of play.

Chyann Kelly finished an impressive freshman campaign with eight points and led the Huskies in scoring just as she had for much of the season.

Lottie Borowski pitched in five points and Amy Bezzant added four to close out the scoring for Platte Canyon.

Bezzant, who led the Huskies all season on the boards, did so again with eight rebounds in the losing effort. Teammate Angel Beck was also a factor in the paint, hauling in six rebounds of her own.
