PCHS swimmers took to the waters at the Tri-Peaks League Championship Feb. 8 at Fountain Valley High School in Colorado Springs.

The water was the same depth as always, but the competition was deeper and faster than usual.

In a couple of events, despite being side-by-side with some of the fastest female swimmers the state has to offer, Lady Huskies managed to post competitive times.

Sadie Lozensky, who has played a vital role for the Lady Huskies all season, finished 13th among a field of 66 swimmers in the 50-Meter Freestyle with a time of 28.97 seconds.

Teammate Sydney Wagner finished 56th in that same field, followed by Madisenne McAllister at 62nd at 37.02.

Wagner also finished 34th in the 100-meter freestyle event with a time of 1:18.67.

The Lady Huskies also made their presence felt in the 200-Meter Freestyle Relay, finishing 12th. That foursome consisted of Lozensky, Wagner, Jadyn Mattson and Blanca Garcia-Quilez-Garcia.

Garcia-Quilez-Garcia posted an exceptional split time of 28.14, swimming the anchor leg of the race for PCHS.

Those qualifying for State will be will be competing Feb. 20-22 at the Pepsi Center in Denver.

The Lady Huskies competed under the direction of PCHS Head Swimming Coach Alicia Gumm.
