Platte Canyon Little League AA minors in the tournament. They beat the Crocs Monday, June 10, 4-3. They advanced to the semi-finals against the Tigers Wednesday, June 12, with the winner going to the championship game. The minors won 14-6.

AA minors versus Crocs

Kater Skouge allowed a single and struck out three batters in the top of the first. The minors were also held and the first inning was scoreless. Skouge struck out two more; however, a bases-loaded walk gave the Crocs a 1-0 lead.

Emma Flores hit an inside-the-park home run. The minors added one more and led 2-1 after two innings. Each team scored one run in the third. The minors led 3-2 after three innings. The Crocs scored one and then held the minors. The game was tied at three after four innings.

The Crocs had the bases loaded with no outs. Marcus Flores then struck out the side to keep the game tied at three. John Bierhaus walked and went to second on a wild pitch. Kier Brouckus hit a walk-off single and Brockus scored to give the minors a 4-3 win.

“It was a good team win,” Coach Shawn Flores said. “A lot of people stepped up.”

AA minors versus the Ken Caryl Tigers

The Tigers took a 3-0 lead after the first inning. Brockus struck out two batters. The minors scored four in the top of the second. Brockus struck out the side and the minors led 4-3 after two innings.  James Schiffmayer’s two-run single put the minors ahead 6-3. They led 9-3 going to the bottom of the third.

Flores came in to pitch and struck out two batters. It was 9-3 after four innings. The minors scored five more. The Tigers scored three, but it wasn’t enough as the AA minors  won 14-6.

AA minors versus Ken Caryl Sharks in championship game

The first inning was scoreless.  Skouge struck out three batters. The second was scoreless. The Sharks had a runner on third with one out. Skouge struck out two more batters to keep the game scoreless. A two-run double led two of the four runs by the minors. The Sharks responded with five in the bottom of the third. The game ended and the Sharks won 5-4.
