Platte Canyon Little League Tuesday and Wednesday’s minors games and Thursday’s majors game were all canceled due to snow.

All three teams played Saturday May 11. The majors lost to Nesheim 12-0. AAA minors lost 10-4 and the AA minors fell just short 8-7.

Majors versus Nesheim

The majors got behind 8-0 after the first inning. It remained 8-0 after two innings. Nesheim scored one more, then held the majors to make it 9-0 after three innings. Nesheim scored three more and it was 12-0 going to the bottom of the fourth.

The majors needed three runs to keep the game going. Nesheim won 12-0. The game was called due to the ten-run mercy rule.

Evan Daughtery had the only two hits for the majors. Dalton Davidson struck out one batter and Nathan Laabs struck out five.

AAA minors versus Robinette’s Claws

The minors opened the scoring with three runs in the top of the first. The Claws scored the maximum five runs to go ahead 5-3.

The Robinette Claws led 6-4 after three innings. Carter Wilson broke up the no-hitter with a single in the top of the fourth. The Robinette Claws won 10-4.

Braylon Spodyak had the lone hit for the AAA minors. Max Ebaugh and Leo Hawks struck out three apiece. Carter Wilson struck out two batters.

“Braylon Spodyak led the team with the only hit,” Coach Eric Smith said. “He also led the team in hustle and backing up other players. We also had some good pitching by Carter Wilson, Leo Hawks and Max Ebaugh. Just happened the other team had a few more hits.”

AA minors versus Twisters

After holding AA minors the Twisters scored four runs and led 4-0 after one inning. The AA minors scored three runs on two bases-loaded walks and a single by Karter Skouge.

The Twisters scored five runs to go ahead 9-3 after two innings. The AA minors loaded the bases on a hit by pitch and two walks. They scored five runs with only one bases-loaded single by Tyler Tanner. The other four were on bases-loaded walks. The AA minors fell short 8-7.

“We played pretty well, but we couldn’t get the timely hits when we needed them,” Coach Shawn Flores said. “So in the end our comeback came up just short.”
