Heartfelt thanks to the 13 hardy men and women who braved the cool and cloudy weather early Wednesday, May 29, to help with the U.S. Highway 9 Spring Trash Pick-up between Fairplay and Alma.
In pairs, we started at six different locations on Highway 9. We began about 9 a.m. and finished the job at 11:55 a.m., about an hour before the snow started.
Workers included Jim, Debbie, Skip, Pattye, Mitch, Cindy, Mike, Janelle, Mike, Connie, Terri, Debbie and Jeanne.
Thanks to the local members of the Colorado Department of Transportation who set up and later took down the warning signs about workers and also picked up the many trash-filled orange bags.
After their work, a congenial group of the workers enjoyed a tasty lunch together at the South Park Brewery.
Big “Thank-you” to all who helped; we will do it all again this fall.
