Christopher Lee “Chris” Stone, 61, of Bailey, Colo., died peacefully at home on Oct. 14, 2019, from prostate cancer.
He was born in Grand Junction, Colo., on July 9, 1958. Chris graduated from Orchard Farm High School and attended Calvin College and Red Rocks Community College. He was married to Carol Sweeney Stone on June 21, 1980.
He was co-owner of Axis Internet. He loved classic rock and roll. He loved being outdoors, spending as much time as possible camping, hiking and fishing. He found tremendous joy playing with his six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Beverly (Weary) Stone. He is survived by his father Donald Stone; brother Ron Stone; sisters Pam Hopkins and Cindy Hood; wife Carol Stone; son Josh Stone; daughter Megan Bowser; and grandchildren Wesley, Griffin, Waverly, Freya, Willow and Wilder.
A memorial service will be held at The Barn at Evergreen Memorial Park, 26624 North Turkey Creek Road, Evergreen, on Sunday, Nov. 3 at 1:30 p.m.
The family suggests that memorials may be made to the Prostate Cancer Foundation.
