Bob Fortune passed away May 4, 2018, at Life Care Center of Evergreen, Colo. after 2-1/2 years of infections and a stroke.

Bob’s home was at Elkhorn Ranches, Como, Colo. He owned SS Maintenance from 1975 until 1993 and Jefferson County Housing, 1993-2003, in Lakewood, Colo. He moved to Elkhorn Ranches and did Bob’s Staining & Painting.

Bob served in the U.S. Army.

Bob was a member of Wood Carvers of Denver, Colo., American Legion 193 of Denver, Colo., and served as an Eagle Boy Scout and troop leader.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Quintin Fortune and Edelin Emma Fortune. He is survived by his wife, J. LyNel Gross-Fortune of Denver, Colo.; daughter Dana Fortune of Denver, Colo.; step-children Darah Smith, of Denver, Colo., Russell Poley, of Denver, Colo., and Jesse Garrison of Elkhorn Ranch, Como, Colo.

A funeral will be held at  American Legion in Fairplay; no date set yet. Interment will be at Fort Logan, Denver, Colo.; no date set yet.
