Victims of fire testify before judicial committee April 30

Rep. Cheri Gerou, R-Evergreen, introduced a bill in the state legislature that could compensate victims of the Lower North Fork fire near Conifer.

That fire started on March 26 when embers from a prescribed fire by the Colorado State Forest Service escaped containment lines and grew to consume thousands of acres, destroyed or damaged 27 homes, and claimed three lives.
