If you have never attended a Downare Brothers Auction, you are missing out. But the good news is you can attend the 14th annual consignment sale June 27 beginning at 10 a.m. which will be held at the usual site, two miles south of Hartsel on Colorado Highway 9.

This is a free event, with small items, mid-size, large and huge items for sale.

Many of the items include large ranch and farm equipment.

Lexi Downare, family member, said, “A huge consignor is Park County Public Works (Road and Bridge), Park County Fleet Vehicles  and lots of local ranchers and construction companies.”

She added, “We are excited about this year because it is a very big sale. We have a great lineup of vehicles, trailers, construction equipment and several farm tractors.”

Items can be viewed on the Facebook page “Downare Brothers Auctioneers,” and on the website, proxybid.com.

Also, viewing of the equipment and vehicles that will be for sale can be done in person at the auction location, Friday, June 26 from 8 a.m.- 5 p.m.

Downare adds, “Our heavy equipment line looks really good this year: loaders, backhoes, and excavators.”

Social distancing

Per Downare, “Women in the office will be wearing masks. We encourage everyone to practice social distancing.”

Consignments

If you have something you want to sell, consignments will be received until June 25 at 5 p.m.

Auctioneers this year will be Myles Downare, Monte J. Downare, Monte Downare and Joe Boulware. Many from the South Park area are quite familiar with the Downare auctioneers.

Per Lexi Downare, “They are all self-taught and have had a passion for it for generations.”

This has been a popular annual event and this year’s auction will be it’s 14th year.

Buying and bidding on large equipment can make one hungry. Snacks and lunch will also be available for purchase.
