Libraries launch pre-K books program next week

Park County pre-K children guided toward 1,000-books goal

If a child is read 1,000 books in the years before entering kindergarten, that time spent reading with parents, siblings or others helps develop pre-reading skills that can give a child a jump-start when entering kindergarten.

At least that’s the rationale noted in a parent information sheet distributed to Park County libraries about the free upcoming 1,000-books-before-kindergarten reading program.
