The Florissant Wellness and Community Fair, coming Aug. 8 and hosted by Florrisant Family Medicine, seems particularly well-timed considering recent events.

The Florrisant Wellness and Community Fair will begin at 11 a.m., will conclude at 3 p.m., and will take place at 18172 County Road 1 in Florissant.

Florissant Family Medicine opened its doors in February of this year.

Deanna McNulty, a doctor of nursing practice and board-certified family nurse practitioner, relocated to Florissant a little more than two years ago with a dream of opening her own practice.

“I really feel a passion for serving my community,” McNulty said. “I have been truly blessed to have the opportunity to be doing what I love in a place as beautiful as Florissant and to be partnering with our community members to meet their health care needs and goals.”

McNulty began her health care career in Leavenworth, Kan. where she worked as a paramedic for Leavenworth County EMS and AMR Topeka for 15 years.

Her passion for caring for others led her to nursing in 2011, and she worked as a Med-Surg, ICU and ER nurse for several years before earning her doctorate degree from the University of Missouri at Kansas City.

McNulty’s background leads her to “meet people where they are, and to focus on their health goals and helping live their best life.

McNulty prides herself on longer patient appointment times and getting to know her patients as people, first.

Services offered at the clinic include wellness visits, sick visits, sports physicals and minor acute care to name just a few.
