‘Prospectors’ ignites interest in prospecting

Park County is part of ‘batholith,’ says Rich Fretterd

“Prospectors,” a reality-based television show produced by The Weather Channel, has some ties to Park County.

The show, which is in the filming process for its second season and is slated to air Oct. 27, has a location this year that features prospecting at a geologic phenomenon that stretches into Park County known as the Pikes Peak batholith.
