Week of May 4 through May 10
The Park County Sheriff’s Office responded to five motor vehicle calls, 13 animal control calls, five ATV on county road calls, 18 iIllegal campfire calls, five code violations calls, 12 motorist assist calls, eight reckless driver calls, 19 shots fired calls, 81 traffic stops, four welfare check and 438 other calls. The total calls amounted to 608.
James Kevin Aden from Iowa was arrested May 9 on charges of first degree murder/after deliberation. He is still in custody.
Christopher Lee Gonzales from Arizona was arrested May 10 on charges of driving under the influence with three priors, drove vehicle other than vehicle equipped with ignition interlock device, weaving lane usage violation and alcohol-open container/drink in vehicle. He is still in custody.
Sherry Kathleen Hays from Hartsel was arrested May 9 on charges of protection order violation (criminal) and a domestic violence enhancer. She is still in custody.
Lindsay Nicole Hoff from Bailey was arrested May 6 on charges of cruelty toward child. She was released on a $500 personal recognizance bond May 6.
James Dee Lesuer from Centennial was arrested May 10 on charges of third degree assault/know/reckless causing injury and harassment (telephone threat/obscene). He is still in custody.
Jeffrey Edward Orndoff from Conifer was arrested May 9 on charges of driving under the influence, failing to report accident and a protection order violation (criminal). He was released on a $1,000 cash/surety bond on May 10.
Week of May 11 through May 17
The Park County Sheriff’s Office responded to 11 motor vehicle calls, 20 animal control calls, four ATV on county road calls, 17 illegal campfire calls, two code violations calls, 10 motorist assist calls, 13 reckless driver calls, 33 shots fired calls, 92 traffic stops, five welfare check and 351 other calls. The total calls amounted to 558.
Julie Elizabeth Burruss from Fairplay was arrested May 15 on charges of first degree burglary/assault/menace, theft $2,000-$5,000, criminal mischief/$300-$750 and third degree assault/know/reckless cause injury. She was bonded and released May 15.
Kivon Gorman from Denver was arrested May 16 on charges of disorderly conduct/discharging firearm, reckless endangerment; and theft $750-$2,000. He was released on a $1,000 cash/surety bond May 17.
Reed Alexander Schmitz from Crestone was arrested on marijuana possession of 5 to 10 pounds, protection order violation/criminal and he also was arrested for other another jurisdiction (Elbert County). He was released on a $2,000 personal recognizance bond May 12.
