HARTSEL LOVES BOOKS AND VOLUNTEERS

Most Hartsel community services and special events are planned and implemented by tons of volunteers. Cassandra Brooks is a volunteer for the Hartsel Community Library, which is run entirely by volunteers. Volunteers catalog books, pay the bills, provide customer service, fix the computers, clean the bathrooms and even do some yard and building maintenance. One of the activities provided by the library is the book club which meets at 11 a.m. the first Monday of each month. (Photo by Lori Bennett/The Flume)
